Feeling: ok

Thinking: I'm bringin' sexy back... (it's in my head, lol)

I just got finished watching some Justin vids, but I feel like watching more. I watched his 2006 performance of "Sexy Back" on the Ellen Deneres show, so that's why the song is in my head.

I don't remember if I said this already, but I finally changed my layout. I got it on Raging Pistachios (www.ragingpistachios.com), which is pretty much where I always get my layouts. It's a cool site. This layout is called "Can't Let Go". It's weird because every time I change my layout, I comment on it, but if I change it again and people read an old entry about me changing my layout, my diary won't have the same layout it did when I made the older entry. Oh well, I still want to comment when I make changes. Anyway, about the movies, well actually I forgot something else that is even more exciting and I can't believe I was only thinking about the movies! I will get back to them, but after Lucy and I got home I checked the mail and there was an envelope with an address on it that made me very excited. Here is what was in the Envelope...

WOOOOOOO!!!!

Yeah, so I was pretty much hyperventilating when I saw the name on the envelope (that is, "Eric Millegan", obviously). So now you see why I am surprised I could have forgotten that. Well I was tired and I guess I had more to say about the movies, but the autograph is more exciting. I emailed Eric telling him I am from Planet Millegan and that I really enjoy seeing him work and I asked if I could have an autograph if he has time and apparently he did. Now almost everyone on PM has an autograph from him. He is so cool and obviously appreciates his fans :)

So back to the movies...

I have seen Shrek the 3rd, but not in the theater, so that was cool. There were a lot of kids in the audience, but they were very well behaved. My favorite character in Shrek is Artie, and then Donkey. My favorite parts are when Artie says "I built this kingdom people, on rock and roll!" lol! Then when he is trying to convince Merlin to help everyone and he (Artie, that is) says "There's a bad man doing bad things to good people". LOL again!

I have to say right now that any character Justin portrays (or does a voice for) is going to be my fave. I can't help it. I am bias, I admit it and make no apologies for it!

So, next was Wall-E. I loved that. I saw it because Eric mentioned it in his email newsletter. He wanted to see it because a lot of people like it, but I guess he didn't like it that much, however he wanted people to tell him what they thought of it if they see it, so of course I had to see it ;)

Anyway, I thought it had a good lesson and it was a really beautiful film. It could definitely get the Oscar for best animated film. My favorite character is Eve.

Next, on to Get Smart. I wanted to see that, but we probably wouldn't have seen it in the theater. Then Lucy found out that the song "4 Minutes", By Madonna, is featured in the film and in case you don't know, guess who is featured in that song? Yes, we saw a movie basically just because a song featuring Justin plays in it. Yeah, we are that pathetic... and proud of it!!

So, I thought that was a really funny and cool movie. I like a lot of people in it and everyone did a good job. It was different from the show, but I think it still kept the essence of it and the changes worked. Only the first part of 4 minutes played in the movies, but the whole song played at the end. Lucy and I were dancing and singing or mouthing along (we don't like to actually sing when Justin is singing). It was fun :)

The last movie we saw was "The Love Guru". I loved that movie man! It was so fricking funny! The humor in it is totally my type of humor. I really don't get why a lot of people didn't like it or think it was funny. It was like Family Guy type humor or Tim and Eric Awesome Show, or National Lampoon, that kind of thing. I love that stuff, I have to admit, not all of it, but a lot of it. Of course my favorite character was Jacques Grande. Mike Myers was 2nd funniest, but Justin seriously was the funniest. I may be bias, but I've seen many non bias people who've said that, so there ;)

Lucy and I wanted to try Pop Tarts with ketchup, but PTs have gelatin in them and it isn't even kosher! I know, isn't that terrible?! I mean we can't even eat French Canadian pizza! And don't even think about saying we can eat generic pts. No, Jacques actually said "Pop Tarts", it has to be Pop Tarts. Oh well, such is life.

Ok, one more thing about Jacques, well actually, Justin... Jacques is a goalie on a hockey team and near the end of the movie you see him with his mask on and you can't really see anything except his eyes. When that part was on Lucy and I were both thinking Justin has really beautiful eyes! I was paying attention to what was going on with the character, but I was mostly thinking either how funny Justin is, how talented he is, or how good looking he is.

I'm not even that obsessed, really. I just seem like I am because Justin has power over people! I mean it! But it's a good thing, yes! I am in complete control.. I think... heehee.

Um, I'm not done, which I'm sure is not a surprise to anyone who might actually read this thing.

I rented "Southland Tales" a couple of days ago. That movie is directed my Richard Kelly, who also directed one of my favorite movies, "Donnie Darko". Well let me tell you, now ST is one of my favorite movies. It is awesome! It's a very unique and creative movie and it has some similarities to DD (references to time travel, similar imagery), but some differences too. For one thing, DD is done in a serious way, but ST is a satire and quite funny in many parts. It is also set from 2005 to 2008, while DD is set in 1985. They are both excellent movies, however, and RK is officially one of my favorite directors. I think he is brilliant and I appreciate him for making the movies that he wants and being creative, rather than making something that is what most people might want, like main stream stuff; not that there is anything wrong with main stream movies, but it is nice to see something different once in a while.

Of course, once again, my favorite character is Pilot Abilene. When Lucy and I first heard the narrator we were like, ok, this is cool :) We have now seen the movie 3x since we rented it and of course we want to buy it.

Words of advice:

1. Only see this movie if you are open minded and not bothered by satirical humor about conservatives, liberals, terrorism, alternative energy, porn, etc.

2. See it at least 2 times. Seriously. DD is the same way. I loved both movies the first time I saw them, but you understand so much more if you see them at least 2x and 3 or more is better. The more you see it, the more you get and the more you enjoy it.

3. Embrace the wonderful uniqueness that is a RK film!

Ok, that's it for now!
